The launch, which took place at Eket Local Government Area, witnessed a cluster of young men and women from all parts of the State, clamouring for the ex-Lagos State Governor to contest the 2007 Presidential elections. Speaking to Daily Sun, the State Co-ordinator of the forum, Chief Maurice Ekpe Ikot disclosed that his group was poised to support Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd) as the next President of the Country based on his past records. The Forum, which dismissed insinuations that Alhaji Buba Marwa was fronting for former President Babangida, drew the attention of Nigerian electorates to the laudable achievements and unprecedented track records which Marwa left behind as the military Governor of Lagos State. Chief Maurice Ekpe Ikot contended that during the tenure of Alhaji Marwa as Governor, he created jobs for the unemployed and rehabilitated area boys who were a nuisance to the people of Lagos State. "If he becomes Nigeria’s President in 2007 he would do more for the benefit of the masses of this country’, he said. The Forum, in a speech read at the inauguration said that Marwa’s ability to manage all forms of crises, his self discipline and fairness to all manner of people, no matter the tribe, clearly stands him out as the next president of Nigeria come 2007. The forum also used the occasion to elect officers to fill positions. They include Mr Kingsley Akpan, State Deputy Coordinator, Prince David Benjamin State Secretary, Prince Joseph Udo Usoro, Chairman contact and Mobilization Committee and Mr. Tom D.
