Rangers players to get special allowance for APR match

By Emeka Nwani

Senior Correspondent, Lagos

Rangers players  have been promised a special allowance to motivate them to beat APR of Rwanda in the second leg of the Confederations Cup.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the club, Davidson Owumi, the boys need the motivation to go full throttle in the second leg tie.

“ I don’t want to disclose what the special allowances will be. But I know that as soon as I get to Enugu, I will call them to announce the special package.

“ We need to do everything to enable them give their best in the match because we must play in the league stage of the newly introduced competition.

“ I know they will be happy with our special allowance aside the normal N30,000  that we pay them for every game they win in the competition.

“ The technical crew and other personnel will also get the special allowances because this is a team work.

“They have their part to play in the general success of the team. And we are not going to leave any stone unturned to qualify for the league stage of the competition,” Owumi said.

Captain of the side, Sam Okoye had discussed with Owumi about the possibility of boosting the morale of the boys immediately on arrival to Nigeria after the first leg.

Okoye told the club’s website  that the boys need all the encouraging words to be in a good frame of mind to win against APR.

“I am happy Owumi saw reason with me and he has done what we want him to do to make the boys happy for the task next Sunday.

“The players have resolved to do their best in the match, and I know that we are going to move to the league stage,” Okoye boasted.
