Though, no life was lost, properties worth millions of naira was ravaged by the fire. According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 1.30 p.m, from one of the flats. Fire fighters succeeded in putting it out, only for the fire to rear its head again at midnight. Moji, a resident of the burnt house, told Daily Sun : " When the fire started in the afternoon, we all rushed out. We did not know that it was going to be a big fire. The fire razed two flats on the first and second floors and left another flat half razed before it was put out". Daily Sun learnt that hardly had the residents gone to bed, when they heard shouts of fire, fire!’ " We woke up with a start, and started combating the fire. Luckily, we had the experience from what happened earlier in the day. We mixed detergent with water, and succeeded in putting out the fire by 3 am", Deolu, another resident said.
