Lagos Obaship: Ruling House Goes to Supreme Court
By Chika Amanze-Nwachuku

Dissatisfied with the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Lagos, which last May, refused its application seeking to nullify the installation of Prince Riliwan Akiolu as the oba of Lagos, the Akinsemoyin ruling house , has gone to the Supreme Court, praying it to set aside the decision of the lower court .

In a notice of appeal, filed through their Solicitor, Mr B.A.M. Fashanu , SAN,the appellants represented by Princes Rasheed Modile and Sammy Adebiyi, said the appellate court was wrong in its decision to turn down their request to set aside the ruling of a Lagos High Court, which okayed the appoinment of Akiolu as the oba of Lagos .

They are therefore praying the apex court to allow the appeal, set aside the decision of the lower court appealed against and grant the two motions for injuctive reliefs filed by the appellants.
