Senator Constructs 3km Road for Community Gombe From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe Senator Sa'ad Mohammed, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, has constructed three kilometre road worth several millions of naira at Kumo, headquarters of Akko Local Government Area of the state. Mohammed also presented 60 tonnes of assorted fertiliser worth N2 million to farmers in his district. While commissioning the road on behalf of the Senator, the commissioner of sports, Lt. Col Magaji Kuji Pilam, described Mohammed as a progressive man who loves his people. He said the road which links many communities in the area would enhance the social and economic activities of the people. According to Pilam, "this road is a gesture from Senator Mohammed. It is aimed at complementing Governor Danjuma Goje's efforts towards transforming the state for the better." He urged all politicians to emulate the senator who had been fighting for the downtrodden at the upper house since his election into the exalted chamber. The 60 tonnes fertiliser was presented to the people by a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Alhaji Idi Batari. He commended Mohammed for encouraging bumper harvest by making fertiliser available to farmers. Said Batari, " this commodity which will be distributed in all the wards of the district at subsidised rates will surely assist farmers this year."
