Ribena Launches New Variants, Support Prize Giving Days
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc has launched two new variants of Ribena, as the Ribena brand begins to honour, reward and felicitate with deserving pupils in primary schools
The new variants namely Ribena Peach and Pear were launched during the prize giving day ceremonies of Chrisland School , Ikeja, Lagos
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Henry Karugu Marketing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc said the school environment was chosen to introduce these new products so as to immediately target children who are leaders of tomorrow. He described children as "inestimable target group" of the Ribena brand which as its philosophy hasbeen promoting tomorrows leaders. He further stated that the launch and the sponsorship of prize giving days are other demonstration of Ribena as a brand that cares for the children
On the production of the new variants, Mr. Karugu said that Ribena Peach and Pear are produced locally after painstaking research to ensure quality and to meet the peculiar taste of Nigerians.
While congratulating over 20 pupils of the schools that won one award or the other, the marketing director said Ribena was taking off on sponsoring prize giving days of pupils in order to promote good conduct, excellence in academic and sporting activities among pupils in primary schools.
The move which is an experiential and relationship building gesture, will have 50 selected primary schools in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Abuja, rewarded on their prize giving days.
Ribena partnership with the selected schools on their prize giving days will culminate in awards to overall best Pupil in academics, most improved pupil in academics, the best pupil in sports, most punctual pupil, the best behaved pupil and the neatest pupil in Primaries 4, 5 and 6.
All these activities, according to a statement , will take place in an atmosphere spiced with music and comedy to the pupils a place of pride
Ribena presence in these schools is expected to foster endearing relationship with the schools which is expected to translate into physical and mental development of the pupils
