London to Begin Nationwide Contest By Tunmise Adekunle London, a brand of British American Tobacco will be using its usual consumer communication platform London Challenge ball Pool tournament to liven up the entertainment scene in major towns across the country. The competition will be held in Lagos, Abeokuta, Akure, Enugu and Uyo. Others are Port Harcourt, Owerri, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Minna and Kano. That the pool is fast gaining acceptance among Nigerians in our urban and semi-urban settlements across the country, will be an understatement. A visit to the neighborhood bars, caffe or restaurants will confirm the rate at which Nigerians are embracing the tactical game. London Challenge which was launched in 2001 has an improved total entertainment package for those skillful players who can make a difference in the game. The challenge, which offers a wide range of gifts and prizes to top winners, is holding under the London Challenge campaign, which, according to the organizers, will be taking place on three levels - Bar, Area and Regional. The competition will begin at the bar level, with winners emerging at each bar level moving to the area finals. And by extension, the winners at the area level will further move to the regional finals to compete. There are lots of prizes for pool enthusiasts who participate in the challenge. Star prizes worth five hundred thousand naira in cash will be won in five regions across the country. Other prizes include refrigerators, TV sets, CD players and other consolation prizes. Registration forms for interested parties are available in bars across the country. Entry is restricted to adults who are 18 years and above. However, London Challenge is not just about pool, there will be fun, games and dance for non pool players to complements the total entertainment experience.
