Nigeria Football
Association Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, Sunday reacted angrily to claims
by former French international, Jean Ahmoudu Tigana, that he has not applied
for the Super Eagles job and should therefore be left out of consideration as
unfortunate and asked Tigana to shut up for good.
“What we are
hearing is totally unfortunate and it’s like we have offered somebody a
job and he is turning it down, that is not the case and I think if the man
truly would not want to work in Nigeria, he should just shut up and leave us to
search for the ideal candidate,” he said.
Galadima reiterated
the fact that the NFA never approached Tigana in the first place but that his
manager, whose names he said can be given by NFA Scribe, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi
approached the NFA and offered the services of Tigana to which the NFA promptly
listed him among those who
have applied and forwarded same to the Technical Committee for consideration.
He added that if
therefore the former Fulham of England Manager does not want the job, he should
contact his manager instead of
dragging Nigeria’s name in the mud in the international media.
On the next line of
action, Galadima said the Technical Committee Chairman. David Suleiman has been asked to make necessary contact and drop the names
of those who are either not qualified or not interested in the job, adding that
by Thursday when the committee meets in Abuja, the picture would become
clearer.
