Delta State Sports
Commissioner, Chief Solomon Ogba has inaugurated the Local Organising Committee
for the Africa Women Championship qualifier between the Super Falcons and the
Teranga Lioness of Senegal.
The essence is to
sensitize indigenes of the state to be of good conduct during the match
scheduled for the Warri Township Stadium, which has come under lock and key
since the last AWC. Ogba also charged the committee headed by Director of
Sports, Mr. Victor Onogagmue that apart from showing hospitality to guests,
they should appeal to individuals to turn out en-masse to cheer the girls to
victory.
The committee which
is not slightly different from that inaugurated during the AWC championship two
years ago also has the DG of DBS TV, Mr. Willie Sohwo as member.
At the championship, which Nigeria won, enthusiasts craved
for more hosting of championships in the oil rich state given the large turn
out by fans at the different match venues.
