I'm Not Under PDP Probe - Attah By Kunle Akogun Akwa Ibom State Governor, Obong Victor Attah yesterday denied newspaper reports that he is being probed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for alleged anti-party activities. Describing the reports as malicious, the governor said he was in fact the one who alerted the PDP national headquarters about what he called "an unbelievably high level of anti-party activities" by some high-ranking members of the party in the state. Attah said based on his letter to PDP National Chairman, Chief Audu Ogbeh, on April 5, 2004, calling for the institution of "a high-powered committee" to investigate the anti-party activities, the party on July 13 set up the panel of four headed by Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, Deputy National Chairman, South to look into the allegations. The governor therefore expressed shock that the story could be twisted in such a way as to suggest that he was the one being probed.
