Kogi Speaker Tasks Civil Servants on Diligence From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Buba Jibril, has charged civil servants to imbibe the spirit of hardwork, discipline and transparency in the discharge of their duties. Jibril, who gave the charge in a chat with THISDAY enjoined them to appreciate the dignity in labour, stressing that their attitudes to work must change. He urged the civil servants that they have the moral duty to hold their position with the fear of God. The speaker also decried a situation where workers received their salaries at the end of the month without doing their jobs. It would be recalled that the programme is part of Federal Government job creation efforts being executed by NDE to combat mass unemployment. Also, beneficiaries were drawn from 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). However, an official of the NACRDB, who spoke with THISDAY under anonymity, said the condition was to deposit 30 per cent. Jibril further reminded them that government of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is all out to develop human resources and make the state a mini-mecca at the end of his tenure. He, however, urged the people of the state to cooperate with government of the day to achieve success in all ramifications.
