Atiku to Attend Tiv Convention in America From Daniel Lor in Makurdi Vice President Atiku Abubakar would next month lead a delegation to attend the annual convention of Tiv people in diaspora under the aegis of Mzough u Tiv in America (MUTA). The annual event, which held last year at Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, between July 31 and August 3, and is scheduled for same period of this year, but would be attended by the Benue State Governor, Mr. George Akume, who is expected to lead a 17-member delegation to the event. THISDAY learnt that the decision by the organisers of the event to invite Mr. Vice President was as a result of his ties with the Tiv people where he holds the honorific cheftancy title of Zege-Mule-U-Tiv. He is said to have been inivted by MUTA to seek ways of mutual benefits from his position as adviser to the Tor Tiv. The Benue State delegation is to attend the event to explain its position on the Kwande crisis, which has received so much condemnation from Tiv people in diaspora. Particularly, the handling of the crisis by the Benue State Government. Also to attend the event include the paramount ruler of the Tiv Nation Tor Tiv five, Dr. Alfred Akawe Torkula, other traditional rulers in Ushongo, Tarka and Gboko Local Government.
