No Decision Yet on Successor -Akume Benue From Daniel Ior in Makurdi Benue State Governor, George Akume, has said, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state was yet to decide on the zone to produce the next governor of the state. Akume said at the appropriate time, the party would resolve the issue, adding that in doing so, it would as usual be fair, objective and show true spirit of brotherhood. He said this when political leaders from Idoma, led by Chief Baba Odangla paid him a courtesy visit. Earlier in his address, Odangla described Akume as a man of peace who ensured that the Idoma and their Tiv neighbours live in peace and unity. He asked if an Idoma man could be governor in the magic year 2007." The group also said as Oliver Twist, they would want more industries established in their area by both the federal and state governments, and decried the neglect of some roads in the area.
