Olajumoke Tasks Politicians on Devt From Funso Muraina in Akure A People's Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dr. Bode Olajumoke has enjoined politicians in the country to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate in contributing to the development of the country. He made the call at the swearing-in ceremony of secretary, supervisors and special advisers for Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State. Olajumoke said that for political office holders not to incur the wrath of the electorate, promises must be fulfilled. He said the expectations of the people was high as "they are looking up to us to deliver the dividend of democracy to them. We should not disappoint them." Earlier in his address, the chairman of the council Mr. Alonge Niyi urged the appointees to evolve ways of improving the life of the people through projects that would accelerate development in the area. He pleaded with the people to co-operate with him in uplifting the status of the council. Meanwhile, the council has budgeted over N421.7 million for the year 2004 fiscal year in a budget tagged. 'Budget of hope,' which was presented by the chairman to the legislative House at Ifon. The sum of N335.2 million was earmarked for recurrent expenditure out of which the sum of N206.9 million would be spent on personnel overhead �, while about N128.1 million would be expended on primary education. Over N86.6 million was budgeted for capital expenditure out of which N26.9 million would be spent on Agriculture, rural development and economic sector.
