DAF Set to Commence Full Operation in Nigeria

The Managing Director of Van Vliet Trucks Nigeria Limited, a division of The August Group Limited, Chief Dayo Adetunmbi, has declared that the DAF Truck Company of Germany will soon commence the sales operation of its various range of truck products in Nigeria.
Chief Adetunmbi who disclosed this to media executives during a media tour of the Van Vliet plant facilities located at Plot 26 Isolo Industrial Scheme, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway explained that the plant which has an administrative block, a warehouse, a sparepart department and a showroom is presently involved in the sales of refurbished trucks and the provision of after sales services.
The executive officer of the company noted that the plant which has its main processing plant along Lagos-Ibadan expressway pointed out that the plant has the capacity of refurbishing and assembling of between 150 to 200 trucks per year, adding that the company which commenced operations barely two years ago has been privileged to have sold over 100 refurbished trucks in Nigeria to leading companies in the oil industry such as NNPC and Zenon.
While fielding questions from media executives, Chief Adetunmbi observed that the plant which at completion will cost the sum of 650 million naria will venture into the sales of tractors and trailers, according to him, it is esteemed that the tractor will cost between 3 and 5 million naria, while the complete truck (which includes the tractor and the trailer) is esteemed to cost between 6 and 8 million naria.
Chief Adetunmbi who hinted that the August Group which has four other divisions includes; August Ventures Nigeria Limited, August Truck and Haulage Co. Ltd, August Engineering Limited and Nihol Crane & Equipment Hire Co. Ltd, observed that the Van Vliet Truck Nigeria which has its parent company in Holland also has branches in seven other African countries.
The Van Vliet Trucks Holland which was established in 1953 has grown into a leading supplier of used commercial vehicles and according to Chief Adetunmbi, the success of the company is dedication and skill which all members of staff has made their watch word.
