Access Bank Adopts Latest Technology Access Bank Plc has taken a major step of re-engineering its operational processes in its bid to improve its services. The bank has upgraded to the latest version of its flexcube banking software- flexcube 6.2 to power its operations. Flexcube is the application deployed by some of the global banks such as Citibank and Union Bank of Switzerland. The application was rated world number one universal banking application in 2002 and 2003. In a statement, Access Bank said it has successfully upgraded its core banking application to flexcube 6.2, the highest and latest version of this award winning banking software. With this development, the bank becomes the first bank in Africa and the second in the world to deliver its services through this internationally acclaimed banking technology. To fully maximise the benefit of this application, an extensive bank-wide training program for members of staff was undertaken both locally and abroad. Members of staff were said to have been tested to assess comprehension and understanding of the series of training programmes and the result demonstrated bank-wide enthusiasm for the kick-off of the new flexcube version. Commenting on this laudable initiative, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Aigboje Aig Imoukhuede said, "our goal is to operate as a world class financial institution, we have invested significant resources in upgrading our technology platform to flexcube 6.2 to ensure that we transform the way banking services are delivered to the Nigerian public".
