Two weeks after, missing man's body appears in Kaduna River
From Saxone Akhaine, Kaduna

AFORTNIGHT after Malam Muhammadu Sani Maikifi was swept away by a rainstorm in Kaduna metropolis, his body suddenly appeared in River Kaduna.

Maikifi, who was resident at Angwar Doda, Blackline, was immediately buried according to Islamic rites.

Maikifi was swept away after he had removed his family of three wives and eight children from their residence, which was flooded.

The flood was also said to have swept away all the deceased's property in a three-room apartment through a major drainage that terminated in River Kaduna.

Already, the Kaduna-North Local Council has donated food items, three mattresses and fairly-used clothes to the surviving victims who are temporarily being sheltered by neighbours of the deceased.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Alhaji Ahmed Muktar Aruwa of he All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) also visited the victims of the flood disaster and made a personal donation of N10,000 to assist them.

One of the wives of the deceased, Hauwa Maikifi, who received the relief materials on behalf of the family, thanked the officials of the Kaduna-North Council and Senator Aruwa for the assistance rendered to the family.

She appealed to members of the public to come to their aid by providing accommodation that would enable them settle down.

According to her, the council chairman, Alhaji Shehu Ahmed has promised to rent a three-room apartment for the surviving family.

She stated that the surviving, family particularly children, were facing difficulties with the departure of their father.

She stressed that their immediate needs were accommodation and how to ensure the early return of the children to school.

Meanwhile, some neighbours of the deceased are having fears on the recurrence of the rain-storm.
