Dosunmu's "The story of Lagos" (The Guardian July 19), it amazed me how people could hold such dark views about an entire people. It borders on Nazi-like propaganda. The writer refused to address the future and present of this great city but elected instead to castigate people. This seems the entire point of the write-up. Before the writer sides with the Nazis, he should endeavour to know the truth about the Jews. Truth itself exists in respect of an accepted body of knowledge in a particular time period. Obviously the writer is in need of more accurate knowledge in the subject matter and all round wisdom in general. I wish you the best in your pursuit of truth. You will find that the Igbo are a progressive people who have even tried in unison with the Oba of Lagos to curb and eventually stop the menace of Area Boys amongst other projects.
