Anxiety in Ife over Sijuwade's Health From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Anxiety yesterday gripped Ile-Ife in Osun State over the state of health of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade. Oba Sijuwade had last week travelled out of the country on business trip. Since he left the country, speculations have been rife in Ile-Ife over the state of the monarch's health. Hundreds of people trooped to the monarch's palace at Enuwa Square for information on Sijuwade's state of health. Sijuwade's chief press secretary, Chief Funmilola Olorunnisola, told newsmen that the Ife monarch was strong and healthy. "My daddy is hale and healthy. He spoke with me this morning from his home in London. Even, Oba Sijuwade gave me an assignment to do for him this morning and which I have completed," he said. Funmilola said that Sijuwade travelled to London last week on business and not for medical check-up as being peddled around the town. He, however, declared that there was no cause for alarm as the monarch would soon arrive the country any time from now. Also reacting, the press secretary to Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Mr. Kayode Oladeji, told newsmen in Osogbo yesterday that "we are aware of the death rumour of the Royal Majesty Oba Okunade Sijuwade but we don't want to make any comment on it."
