Osun Gov Approves N700m for Job Creation From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola yesterday approved a sum of N70million for the provision of employment for the unemployed youths in the state. Besides, the governor has broken a 22 year old chieftaincy tussle by approving the appointment of prince Anthony Oyinlola Adegbite Okeyode as the new Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government Council. Briefing newsmen after the state executive council meeting in Osogbo the commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Barrister Gbadegesin Adedeji who spoke on behalf of the government stated that, under the new scheme of youth employment, each of the beneficiaries among the youth will placed on monthly salary of N6,000. According to him, the beneficiaries will be saddled with the responsiblity of cleaning the road and at the same time clearing the bushes in the state. He said that, the programme will first be flagged off in some major towns like Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa and Iwo. Adedeji added that another programme tagged "Honey Comb Road Network Scheme" which will see both the state and local government partnering together has been put in place by the government. By this, the commissioner explained that, there would be partnership between the state and any willing local government for the co-funding of any identified councils' road in the state. He however declared that for such to be brought to fruition, any of the council that was interested in the partnership would contribute 50 percent of their money to the scheme.
