'Fayose, A Rare Breed' Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has been described as a rare breed politician who has the interest of Ekiti people at heart. In the history of the creation of Ekiti State, hardly has any leader (Military administrator and civilian governor) who were fortunate to lead the state have been much closer to the people than this young, dynamic and ebullient young governor. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Sola Aladeyelu has declared. Aladeyelu told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti that,"If any ruler must lead he has to come nearer and feel the pulse of the people. He should identified with their (people) problem and how to tackle them would be his priority." "This is what Fayose has been doing since his -assumption of office, more than a year ago. And that is why he has become the man and toast of the people. To Aladeyelu, Fayose has demonstrated the type of democracy that the popular United States democracy whose Nigeria's is modeled after. "In the US, a governor of a state comes nearer the people, the young, the old and the kids to feel their pulse and interact with them. "This is what Fayose has been doing and we the people like it that way or else how could one describe a governor who stoop down so low to dine with mere Okada riders in Ado Ekiti during their anniversary. Such is the rare and large heart of Governor Ayo Fayose", Aladeyelu declared. On his achievements, Aladeyelu said in the last one year, Fayose has been able to achieve tangible things which his predecessors were not able to achieve in their first one year.
