Igbinedion Showers Naira Rain on Athletes From Omon-Julius Onabu in Benin-City Governor Lucky Igbinedion has made good his promise to cash on athletes who won medals for Edo State at the last National Sports Festival in Abuja. The governor, at an impressive ceremony yesterday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, doled out the sums of N100 000, N75 000 and N50 000 each to the athletes who won gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively. Faith Bazuaye, who emerged as the "Star Athlete" with her five gold medal haul during the tournament, received a total of N500 000 from the governor. Philip Enaike, who won three gold medals in the special sports event, got a total of N300 000.
