The minister had declared that he hopes to haul a princely 10-gold medals come Athens 2004, but indications are that the target may be a little too ambitious considering the form of Team Nigeria. At yesterday’s meeting at the National Stadium in Lagos, the minister spoke about accreditation plans and the need to be orderly at the games. He also emphasised the need for the chairmen to ensure that the athletes are motivated so as to realise the target of 10-gold medals. Mohammed’s first assignment in Germany would be to watch the friendly game between the Super Falcons, who are presently camped there and current world champions, Germany. “The man is simply desperate for result at the games and you can’t blame him because he has set a target that must now be achieved”, a source at the meeting hinted.       Copyright� 2002.
