Issuance of National Identity Card Begins From John Iwori in Yenagoa Minister for Internal Affairs, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu will tomorrow flag off the issuance of National Identity Cards to registered Bayelsans in the state. Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Dr. Steve Azaiki made this known in a meeting held with officials of the National Civic Registration team in his office in Yenagoa noting that the cards will enable the Federal and State Government to have demographic records of the nation. The SSG said that the national identity cards would also assist in economic planning of the nation. He called on all registered Bayelsans to come out en masse for collection of their National Identity Card at their respective registration centers. Earlier, Mallam Adamu Isah who spoke on behalf of members of the National Civic Registration Team stated that the issuance of the National Identity Card would commence tomorrow morning at the Multi Purpose Hall Sports Complex, Yenagoa. He therefore called on all those who registered last year to turn out for the programme, adding that those who are up to the age of 18 years and above, who could not register last year could use the opportunity to register at the Department of National Civic Registration Offices in their respective Local Government Areas or any registration center nearest to them.
