Jigawa PDP Explains Board Appointments Slot From Chuks Okocha in Abuja Chairman of the Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Usman Roni has given details of how the party shared the 29 board appointment slots allocated the state by the Federal Government. Roni in an interview with THISDAY in Abuja said the state was allocated 29 slots out of the 1,400 slots and that the 29 slots consisted of five chairmanship and 24 members of the Federal Boards of Directors of Federal Parastatals. According to him, "Out of the 29 slots we gave nine slots to the party executive council, two slots to the women group, another two to the youth's group, and five to the Elders Council of the state." The remaining slots, he said were shared in the following order; four to the former local government council chairmen, while two slots each given to the Hadeija Senatorial and Dutse zones and three slots were allocated to the Gumel Senatorial zone because it contains more local governments than other senatorial zones. The chairman explained that the distribution of the slots was to the satisfaction of all members of the party executives and the elders committee. Already, he said, "we have submitted the list to the chairman of the Northwest zone who is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Masari." He also denied writing a petition to the national secretariat of the party saying, "If there was any petition, it came from Alhaji Sani Zorro. He said it openly at our meeting that he was not satisfied with what we did and we granted him the request to write his petition.
