Imo LG Boss Pledges Amenities for Communities Imo Chairman of Oru West Local Government of Imo State, Mr Nwabueze Oguchienti has pledged to site one major project in each of the communites in the area within the next three years. Speaking at the end of his tour of the communities, Oguchienti noted that unless the impact of government was felt at the local level, the peope would not appreciate the positive aspect of democracy. Explaining that he undertook the tour of those communities to identify their core needs inorder to respond to them appropriately, he noted that by meeting with the traditional rullers and leaders of those communities, he was able to appreciate their various problems. The chairman pointed out that while some communities were in dire need of water projects, others were clamouring for either electricity or industry. He further promised that a project will be executed in all the communities irrespective of their party affliations. Oguchienti also explained that the provision of those amenities was in line with the tripod vision of Governor Achike Udenwa. He therefore urged the people to always maintain peace, arguing that no meaningful developement could be achieved in midst of crisis.
