Lawmaker Optimistic on N8.5bn Water Project Gombe From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe Chairman, Committee on Water Resources of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Adamu Malala, has expressed hope that the N8.5 billion Dadinkowa Regional Water Project would be completed on schedule. Malala during a courtesy call on the executive chairman of the state water corporation, Dr Danlami Rukujei, said the committee was impressed by the way government was handling the project. According to the chairman, "we have visited the project site and I must say we are happy with what is going on. We have to commend the state water corporation." Chairman of the corporation, Rukujei in his response praised the house for approving N2 billion for the project. He said the amount had been paid to the contractor, the Chinese Geo-Construction Company. He said the cooperation of the house would ensure the completion of the water project by September next year. "The support given by the house will help the government in fulfilling its campaign promises to the people of the state," Rukujei said. The chairman stressed that the perennial water scarcity in the state had been lingering for decades and that the Danjuma Goje administration is determined to solve the problem.
