Council Boss Spends N1.6m on Road Construction Ogun From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta Chairman Obafemi/Owode Local Government area in Ogun State, Babatunde Akeem Adesina said about N1.6 million has been spent on the construction of Kobape township road in the first phase of his road rehabilitation and maintenance project. Babatunde made the disclosure during a press briefing held at the council secretariat as part of activities marking his administration's first 100 days in office. He disclosed further that shortly after the completion of Kobape township roads, attention would equally be shifted to the construction of Obafemi-Erunbe road and Mowe-Ibafo road, which he said would also gulp substantial amounts. Describing the council as agrarian, Babatunde said this accounted for why roads within the area must be properly maintained and opened up for easy evacuation of farm produce from rural to urban centres. The chairman said his administration would embark on massive construction/maintenance of roads in all the nooks and crannies of the council as soon as the rains subside, pointing out that a large sum of money had been released to boost agricultural projects.
