Nigerians Urged to Emulate Christ Ogun By Lola Adewoyin Nigerians have been urged to emulate Christ by living a life of holiness which is acceptable to God and worthy of emulation because, death could come anytime. Reverend Dayo Awodun of All Saints Anglican Church, Itori, Ogun State, said this in his sermon at the funeral service for Mrs Sabainah Taiwo Akindiya. Awodun said a Christian, whose way of life is acceptable to unbelievers should watch his ways, because a believer's way of life is supposed to be in contrast to unbelievers'. He described the deceased as a soldier who stood in gap for Christ, interceding on behalf of others when called upon to do so. He said the Church would miss her activities, because in spite of her old age, the deceased never missed any of the prayer meetings and other activities. He admonished her children to follow her footsteps in fellowship with Christ. She was 75 years old. Quoting copiously from the Bible, Awodun urged his listeners to be steadfast in the faith, and live a holy life in consonance with the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Late Akindiya was one of the early members of the Church and she contributed immensely to its development. The Church is preparing for its centenary anniversary. Akindiya is survived by many children, including Bayo Akindiya, a staff of the Lagos State civil service.
