Amiesimaka Declines NFA Job Former international Adokie Amiesimaka has turned down the chance to serve on the committee set up by the sports Mministry to re-organise the Nigeria Football Association (NFA). Veteran sports administrator Malam Babayo Shehu is heading a 17-man committee geared at giving Nigerian football a much-needed over haul. But the outspoken Amiesimaka has told www.kickoffnigeria.com he will not serve on such a committee. "My thanks to the honourable Sports Minister for finding me worthy (of being picked as member of the committee) but I must decline," he said."I will not waste my time and taxpayers' money. The committee is with due respect unwielding and unnecessary. Are we going to re-invent the wheel? Can't we use the examples of other countries with success stories in football administration? What is the ministry doing with all accumulated materials at its disposal over the years?" He added: "I was chairman of the Premier League Committee in 2002 and submitted a much-acclaimed report to the NFA with far-reaching recommendations on the so-called Decree 101. What has been done with that report? "The ministry knows what to do about '101' and how to positively restructure the NFA. They should just do it and stop the rigmarole." The former Sharks of Port Harcourt chairman also hit at the letter appointing him on the committee, saying it is "presumptuous and impolite".
