Access Bank Joins NSE Settlement Banks finance Smarting from the stellar performance in its 2004 financial reports, Access Bank Plc has also been appointed settlement bank to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). It has also signed a US$10 million agreement with the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) for the provision of medium to long term financing for indigenous oil service contractors. With the appointment of Access Bank as a settlement bank to the NSE and the Central Security Clearing Systems (CSCS), the bank is expected to bring its formidable technology and its reputation for excellence service to bear in its operations. Access Bank is one of the only three banks in Nigeria with an on - lending relationship with FMO - one of Europe's leading development companies. It provides support for the private sector in developing countries and emerging markets in Asia, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe. FMO's goals are to provide sustainable economic growth in these countries in conjunction with the African region trading about Euro 393 million. In a statement made available to THISDAY, Access Bank says "its strategic focus aims to provide access to medium to long term financing as a means of fostering economic development and ensuring local capacity development."
