Royal fathers laud Nnamani

By Chukwudi Achife

Bureau Chief, Enugu

Traditional rulers in Enugu State have hailed the efforts of Governor Chimaroke Nnamani to ensure the rapid development of the state and improve the lots of the people.

Chairman of the state’s traditional rulers’ council, Igwe Jeremiah Onovo, who spoke on behalf of his other colleagues told journalists after they inspected some ongoing projects in the state that the governor has shown clearly that he is in touch with the people’s needs and aspirations.

Project inspected were the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital complex at Park Lane, the university ‘s permanent site in Agbani, Chime Avenue, New Haven, dual carriage way and the Nineth Mile Ebe-ano bye pass.

Onovo said, "We have gone round and we are happy that Nnamani took the plunge to rid the state of its deficiencies in education and health care.

"He has confirmed his belief that an educated and healthy man floats above poverty. All we are saying is that he should live to get the applause and see for himself the impact of his achievements on the lives of the people," he said.

The traditional rulers promised to spread the message of the governor’s achievements to their domains, and canvassed the support of all and sundry towards the completion of the projects.

The traditional rulers also gave their full support to the government’s monetisation programme, saying if properly implemented it would reduce the gap between the haves and have-nots as well as reduce ncpoverty among civil servants.
