N126 Scam: Osun Rules Out Political Solution
From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo
Osun State government yesterday ruled out the possibility of using political solution to resolve the alleged N126 million Bola Ige House contract scam levelled against the immediate past Governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande, through political means.
The state Finance Commis-sioner and Economic Develop-ment, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo, dropped the hint to newsmen in Osogbo shortly after attending this year's World Population Day held at Osun NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo.
He added the immediate past governor of the state would be arraigned before the law court to clear his name on the alleged scam.
According to him, the crisis was beyond political resolution "if we want to get the root of the matter."
He said that the state government had completed its findings on the alleged scam and would soon drag the consultant of the house, Mr. Lanre Oladeji, to a law court in the state.
Oladipo added that "the matter is beyond finding political solution because it is a legal matter and by the time the consultant is arraigned in court, he would tell the whole world what he knew about the fraud and principal characters involved."
His words: "We did not blew the scam open, it was Chief Bisi Akande himself that started it by speaking to the press. We are not going to join issue with anybody in this case. Let the law takes its appropriate cause."
Meanwhile, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the state has warned the state Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, against any attempt to rename the controversial "Bola Ige House" constructed by the government of Akande.
In a statement issued by the party and signed by its state chairman, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti asked Oyinlola to disregard the call by Comrade Peter Ade-Ajayi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters to rename the complex Workers' House.
