'Information, Key to Nigeria's Survival' From Jide Orintunsin in Minna Acting Governor of Niger State Dr Shem Zagbayi-Nuhu has hinged the survival of the country on the information available to government and the governed. Speaking while receiving the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Chief Chukwuemeka Chikelu and some state commissioners for Information in Government House, Minna yesterday the Acting governor said, a nation survives based on the information available to it. Zagbayi-Nuhu who was hosting the visting minister and commissioners who were in the state for the 34th National Council on Information further said that the nation's nascent democracy can only be nurtured in an atmosphere of free flow of information. Charging the country's information managers to come up with policy that will not only educate and mobilise the people's support for governmen tpolicies and programmes, he also urged them to fashion a package that we give the country the right image among the comity of nations. He urged the delegates to the national talk shop to ue the meeting to fformulate policies that will mobilise the public on the various reforms efforts of the federal and state governments.
