Shareholders Offer to Buy Up Guaranty Trust's Shares The offer of 10 billion shares to the investing public by Guaranty Trust Bank PLC will attract unprecedented buy-out by investors when the offer opens. This view was expressed yesterday by the leaderships of major shareholders associations in the country including the President of the Nigerian Shareholders Association, Chief Akintunde Asalu and the National Coordinator of the Independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria, Mr S. N. Nwosu. Asalu said. "The public offer of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC will be over subscribed because if you look diligently at the figures you will see that the bank has a track record of financial performance and consistently high returns on investment which everybody can see and admire." He added "the price of N10.60 per share is very good because of the share quality, being one of the most actively traded stocks on the Exchange." In the same vein, Nwosu said shareholders have tested Guaranty Trust Bank stocks and found them to be good investment and profitable . He is confident that shareholders will massively buy the GTB public offer because of the bank's track record of corporate performance and return on investment over the years. The confidence reposed on Guaranty Trust Bank is due to its outstanding record returns on investment and dividend payout to its shareholders. The bank has achieved a 440 per cent increase in return on investment to its shareholders from November 2001 to February 2004.
