...Threaten Journalists With Guns Osun From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Police yesterday in Osun State continued their attack on journalists as they threatened them with guns as the new entrances of the state Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, venue of the Official commissioning of 300 tractors purchased by the state government Consequently, the Concerned Citizen of the state in a statement issued and signed by its secretary, Dr. Segun Ogunbamowo, called on the Inspector-Gneral of Police Tafa Balogun to order the transfer of the state police boss Alhaji Audu Abubakar over the incresase in crime waves since assumption of office two months ago in the state. Police had on Tuesday and Wednesday in Osogbo had a running battle with Journalists and pro-democracy groups including the widow of the aclaimed winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Mrs Teju Abiola, at the Local Governmemnt Election Petition Triunal and state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journlists, Osogbo, respectively. But yesterday around 11.00 a.m when journlists covering the state were about to enter the Government House, Oke-fia, Osogbo, venue of the official commissionning of 300 tractors purchased by the Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola regime, in their press crew bus with registration number OSGH 40, the anti-riot policemen posted to the main entrance of the venue of the ceremony barred them fom entering.
