This action has compelled the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Council (NLC) Kogi State council not to call-off the on-going nation wide strike action. In a statement signed by the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Isa Abubakar, made available to our correspondent in Lokoja, the organised labour vowed to continue with the strike action until the major marketers revert to the old price. The NLC described the action of the federal government as wicked and insensitive to the problems facing the poor masses of the country. It alleged that the only dividend of democracy that the President Olusegun Obasanjo government has given the people was untold hardship. This, they disclosed, have led to untimely death of many Nigerians who championed the struggle for the return of power from the military to politicians in 1999. Expressing his view to the on-going strike action, Rev.
