Industrialist Lauds Makarfi's Peace Efforts Kaduna From Agaju Madugba in Kaduna The director of Paladin Industries, Chief Igwe Ojike,has lauded the various peace projects initiated by the Kaduna State Governor,Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi. According to Ojike,"by dint of purposeful leadership, hardwork and statesmanship, Governor Makarfi has succeeded in bringing us together peacefully for the continued progress and development of the state." Ojike spoke at the weekend when he presented a cheque and other items to the Makarfi Peace and Unity soccer competition. He said the Paladin group would always support such noble initiatives,adding that,"a tournament of this nature especially when it is football becomes not only a means of creating healthy citizens but also provides a platform for chanelling the exuberance of our youth. "We shall continue to pursue this noble objective especially when it is geared towards peace and unity of our people.' He said the company's new factory being constructed at a cost of N300 million would be ready in October 2004 and will roll out "the world's best tissue." Receiving the donation, Makarfi's Special Adviser on Youth and Sports, Alhaji Mohammed Shusha,described Paladin's gesture as a "great contribution towards the promotion of sports in the state."
