Clean and Green Moves to Councils Kwara The Clean and Green Programme of the Kwara State government has moved to the local government area of the state. Introducing the programme, Offa Local Government, council boss, Alhaji Tajudeen Folarin Aro, stressed the need for the people to maintain a clean environment all the time, adding that, health is wealth. Aro said a bye-law will be enacted which would forbid people from dumping refuse outside designated spot. "As we flag off this campaign, we must not forget that all the entire people who reside in Offa are required to participate fully in the exercise," Aro said. He emphasized the need for cooperation for the rebirth, reconstruction, revival and rejuvenation of the Nigerian society. In order to make the Clean and Green Programme successful in the area, the council chairman said a policy machinery to re-engineer attitudinal change has been put in place, adding that "our sanitation officers will swing into action very soon to start enforcing the state Bill on environment and local government edict on sanitation. 62 unemployed hands were given environmental jobs in the area.
