Coca-Cola Commended On Olympic Torch Relay Nigerian Ambassador to Egypt, His Exellency, Mohammed Ghali Umar, has commended Coca-Cola for the transparent way they choosed the Olympic Torch Bearers who made Nigeria proud yesterday in Cairo. Speaking during a visit to the Nigerian contingent at the El-Gezirah Sheraton Hotel, Ghali Umar noted that the soft drink giant has shown that transparency can play a great role in the country inspite of all odds. " I want to say that Coca-Cola has done what normally is a hard thing for any Nigerian to do in time past. They have shown that honesty and hard work can pay. " I am happy with their efforts to make Nigeria a better place to live in, with their little contribution to the socio-cultural life of the citizens. " Who would have thought something so big as the Olympic Torch Relay would not generate problems? But they quietly and systematically asked Nigerians to choose who they want in Cairo and that is a very place to begin in the total transformation of the country," Ghali said. In his first official assignment since resuming this week as the new Ambassador, Ghali implored Coca-Cola not to rest on their oars to gear up the youths of Nigeria into engaging themselves in meaningful activities. " What you have done will give great hope to the youths of Nigeria. They will now see an opportunity to excel in whatever they are doing because they can easily be recognised when the need arises," he sumed up.
