Shippers' Council Poised to Promote Economic Devt The South-West Coordinator, Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Raheem Sanusi yesterday declared that, the council would not relent in its efforts at facilitating policy capable of promoting economic development of the country through international trade. Sanusi disclosed this in Osogbo on Tuesday while declaring open a seminar tagged: "Towards Condu-cting a Successful Importation and Exportation Business in Nigeria" stated that, the development would allow the importers/exporters to conduct business transactions in a more efficient and profitable manner. According to him, "the importance of Importers and Exporters at enhancing the economic advancement of the nation cannot be over emphasised because of their day-to-day business activities." He said, "the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) would evolve a strategy that would consider all the people involved in the economic emancipation of the nation." Sanusi added, "lack of drive for export of goods and services was for the nation's economic woes." He noted that, "it was not an accident that the most developed nations are those producing enough goods and services for export."
