FRSC, correct this anomaly
This is to urgently draw the attention of
the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Police to the danger on our
highways.
The alarm has to do with the transportation of people
in their hundreds in trailers, some of them standing. Sometimes, the trailer
driver may be drunk, while the maintenance of the truck may be very poor.
This is what construction companies do each time they
are taking their labourers to site.
A drive across the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, in
the early hours of the day and in the evenings, will reveal how much things are
left to chance and the least importance attached to human life in this country.
I hereby call on the Police and the FRSC to,
henceforth, arrest drivers of these dangerous human cargoes so as to forestall
further bloodbath on our roads.
