FMBN Approves N1.5b Loan From Cletus Akwaya in Abuja Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has approved additional N1.5 billion loan for estate developers, in the bid to improve on the housing stock in the country. Public Relations Consultant to the bank, Mr Festus Adebayo, in a statement in Abuja yesterday named beneficiaries of the loan as Edo State Property and Development Company , Abia State Housing Corporation, Benue State Investment and Housing Development Company and Delta Property Development Company among others. Adebayo said FMBN was determined to massively finance delivery of housing stocks in all parts of the country adding, this explained the spread of the loan to state owned property and development companies. He, faulted recent media reports which indicated Sintax Nigeria Limited, one of the estate development firms benefitting from FMBN loan, has fully drawn its facility of N630 million approved by the bank, saying the company has so far collected N225 million out of the total amount approved. Also, the statement said Sintax has continued its development of the estate at Suleja, Niger State, even though the loan was yet to be fully granted, stressing that already, about 100 housing units under construction had reached lintel level. The statement quoted the Adamawa State Governor, Mr. Boni Haruna, to have recently commended the new management of FMBN, under the leadership of Alhaji Tanimu Yakubu, over its commitment to timely disbursement of the estate development loans to beneficiaries in different parts of the country.
