NLC Dissolves Sokoto Council From Juliana Taiwo in Abuja National Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has dissolved the State Administrative Council (SAC) of Sokoto State for actions it described as subversive of workers' interests and unity espcially during the last strike and mass protests over increase in fuel price. In a release made avaiable to THISDAY and signed by the Ag. General Secretary, Salihu Lukman, NLC recalled that the Chairman of the Sokoto State Council of the NLC had appeared on NTA Network news and other television and radio stations on the eve of the national strike to dissociate the state council leadership from the strike with the intention to dissuade Sokoto State workers from participating in the strike. "Though most workers of Sokoto State defied this directive and took part in the strike by staying at home, the action of the leadership of the state Council was certainly in bad taste and in violation of the resolution of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NLC on the strike", it said.
