ASP's Daughter, 30 Others Held for Robbery By Yemi Akinsuyi and Eugene Agha A 19 year old daughter of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to Lagos State Police Command was among the 31 armed robbery suspects paraded before newsmen yesterday by Commissioner of Police, Mr. Israel Ajao. The girl who claimed to be an apprentice tailor was arrested in a Hotel at Okokomaiko, Ojo, a Lagos suburb, along with six others, by officers and men of the Operation Fire for Fire attach to area E, Command, FESTAC. Addressing journalists at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, Ajao said that the 31 suspects were among those terrorising residents in resent times. According to him, his assumption of office barely a month ago has yielded a harvest of 31 armed robbers, 37 assorted firearms and 156 rounds of different types of ammunition. "These suspects would soon be charged to court while effort is on to arrest other fleeing members of the various gangs that are on parade' he added. Revealing how the suspects were arrested, Ajao said based on a tip off, Policemen from FESTAC Division arrested five members of the gang namely Miss Olaitan Olowu, Wahab Ibrahim, Yusuf Sharafa, Adeoye and Salami Aliu.
