Mu'azu Pledges to Complete Devt Projects

Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Ahmadu Adamu Mu�azu has said his commitment to the people of the state in the next three years would be to complete some of the development projects which his administration started during its his first term in office.
The governor also stated that no amount of blackmail, confrontation or threat would deter him from enhancing the living standard of the people through the provision of policies and projects that would have direct bearings on their lives.
Mu'azu said he had already approved a complete overhaul of the Bauchi Metropolis Water Treatment Plant and also awarded a N123 million contract for the supply of four brand new high and lift pumps, electric motors and associated accessories.
According to him, "this measure aims at bringing to an end the frequent disruption of water supply in the State capital due to the dilapidated condition of these equipments."
He added that "we are also looking into the electro-mechanical and civil structures of the system with a view to bring the plant back to its original capacity to explore other sources of water supply to boost the quality of water available in the State capital in the face of expansion in demand".
The governor disclosed that contract have been awarded for the rehabilitation of 1908 broken-down boreholes in the 20 local government councils in the state, saying that "most of these boreholes have been successfully brought back to life".
He noted that construction of earth dams in various rural areas was progressing in terms of providing water for livestock consumption, pointing out that at least eight of these earth dams are being constructed at the cost of N115 million in Tafawa Balewa, Dass, Bauchi, Ganjuwa, Toro and Bogoro local government areas.
He pointed out that 40 rural electrification projects have now been completed adding that "in all, we have plan to electrify about 250 more villages before the end of our tenure to complement the 378 others already executed in our first tenure".
