...As Eagles Leave Without Him A team of 13 players led by assistant coach Augustine Eguavoen flew out to Angola via South Africa on Tuesday night with skipper Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha conspicuously missing from the travelling party. There have been serious doubts surrounding Okocha's availability for the trip to Angola despite assurances and reassurances by worried NFA officials and these doubts were finally confirmed when the Bolton Wanderers failed to travel with the team from Lagos. But the officials have not given up hope altogether that Okocha will not be involved in Sunday's World Cup/Nations Cup cracker against Angola in Luanda. They are now hoping he will join up with the squad on his own today. While Egypt-based Robert Akaruye and Garba Lawal, who plays for Swedish club Elfsborg, will meet up with the team in Luanda. Seyi Olofinjana and Ifeanyi Ekwueme joined the squad at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos while Belgium-based striker Aliyu Mohammed was the last arrival at the team's residential camp in Otta. Players like Joseph Yobo and John Utaka are already in South Africa, where they are shooting a commercial for a telecoms concern. The players on the Tuesday flight to Johannesburg were: Sunday Rotimi, Tosin Dosunmu, Yakubu Adamu, Vincent Enyeama, George Abbey, Rabiu Baita, Seyi Olajengbesi, Paul Obiefule, Adewale Duada Wahab, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, Aliyu Mohammed, Joseph Enakahire and Seyi Olofinjana. While the officials include NFA CEO Taiwo Ogunjobi, team doctor Muazu Abdulkadir, goalkeeper coach Amusa Adisa and team secretary Tunji Babalola.
