Sponsors Seminar for Business and IT Editors MTN Nigeria Commu-nications, in line with its professional capa-city buil~p0~5 objective, recently held a one-day seminar at the Lagos Business School for a cross section of Business and IT Editors drawn from the print and electronic media. Speaking at the seminar, Joke Giwa, MTN Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, stated that the objective was to enhance the professional skills of the journalists and further enhance their knowledge of the telecommunications industry. According to Giwa, "this seminar has also offered us an opportunity to further enhance our relationship with one of our major stakeholders, the media." While commending MTN Nigeria for the initiative, participants urged other players in the telecommunications sub-sector to emulate the MTN example. Ufuoma Daro, IT Correspondent of The Punch Newspapers, said: "Such a seminar should be arranged on a more regular basis and the focus should be on how to help the IT and Business journalists write and report more accurately on issues in the Information Technology industry."
