Unical Bank Hooks on to Enterprise Banker

Enterprise Banker CT2003, a leading application developed by Connect Technologies, has continued its best-seller profile into the Nigerian banking industry and financial institution.

Informed by the recent CBN guidelines for efficient community banking, the University of Calabar Community Bank has signed on the Broad Street-based Connect Technologies Limited - Professional Software Solution Providers, to implement its Computerised Banking Automation process.

The move was said to be informed by the recent trend noticed in the mid-range banking sector - on the urgent need to respond to market demand, expand their market share through effective, smart and responsive service delivery, thereby attaining an improved customer satisfaction.

Enterprise Banker CT2003 by Connect Technologies is an enterprise banking software specially designed to automate all banking activities, from banking needs of retail customers, routine banking needs of investments and trade-finance activities to full activity report summary. Company sources revealed that the Application is systematically structures in Modules and fulfills and delivers the following solutions:

Retail Banking Solution & Business Administration and Management System Module (Core), General Ledger (Core), Asset Management System (Core), Loan and Mortgage System, Billing and Utility Payment System, Security System Module, Reports & Analysis.

According to Chris Uwaje, the Chief Executive Officer of Connect Technology, the Application is 100 percent indigenous effort, with many years of extensive Research and Development investment endeavour.

He said the product has been subjected to professional pair review, evaluation and testing and found to be of quality standard.

The system has the capability to meet all core banking requirements.

Specifically, a Retail Banking module is provided the entire system is parameter driven. The user can set the parameters in the system administration module to achieve the required results. A comprehensive reporting system is also available and a lot more can be added based on user requirement.

The Application design is based on True Windows interface with capabilities for drop-down boxes, search lists and multiple document interfaces. The application system uses the industry standard windows and GUI Interface. This conforms to International Standard and very popular in business circles. This enhancement gives a user-friendly interface. Users with basic windows experience will have no problem getting used to the entire suite of applications and solutions

Key features of Enterprise Banker CT2003 include among others that it supports flexible account type, for instance, Current, Savings and Deposit Accounts. It also support inter-accounts funds transfer, provision of customer statements on demand, provision of flexible transaction charges, and allows for loans, advances and overdraft transactions

Furthermore, it makes provision for basis for charges and interest calculations, provision of authorization and charges for dormant account transactions.

It also allow for reversal of transactions, signature capture and display, customer's passport capture and display and a General Ledger module.

It is a Windows-based system with a password option and access level authorization feature. The CT2003 is customizable to meet a bank's requirements.

The benefits to the banks which sign on the application includes automatic view of customers' balances on all account types, tracking of customer's deposits and advances/withdrawals, automatic calculation of charges and digital storage of customers' signatures and passports.

Further advantages include the tracking of dormant accounts, overdraft accounts, tracking of loan repayments, interest on loan and the like, digital journalisation of trade-finance activities and provision of a wide array of reports such as customers statements, customers balance listing, daily deposits and advances, daily transaction listing, cot, vat, interest generated monthly; ledger reports such as detailed/summary trial balance, income statement, balance sheet, among other activities.

With the recent Economic and Monetary Framework of ECOWAS, and the likelihood of deploying the Eco Currency by Mid 2005, Community Banks which do not Computerise now may not only pay a higher price in the future, but may indeed be confronted with very fierce market competition that may dictate its demise!
