Red Star Express Reviews Mission Statement
Red Star Express, the fastest growing indigenous courier company in Nigeria, has reviewed its mission statement after its strategy meeting in Lagos to reflect its aspiration to become the best express delivery company in the country. The new mission statement states, "Red Star Express shall be the best servicedriven logistics solution provider. We will in addition to our expertise in air express service, provide transportation, warehousing and other supply chain management services that will be prompt, secure and effective through employing, developing and retaining a well motivated workforce, evolving and marketing a range of technologydriven service to meet the costumers' needs as well as ensuring that all our operations reflect a commitment to quality."
The new statement is designed to meet the diverse needs of the company's customers as well as increase the quality of service offered by the company. According to the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Isaac Orolugbagbe, "We have a challenge of meeting the changing needs of our customers. It is therefore pertinent to review our mission and expand our horizon in other related business areas to accommodate these needs. This expansion will improve the quality of service we offer our customers and also provide an avenue for the growth of our company." He further stated that the company is driven by the spirit of entrepreneurship and look out for market opportunities which it hopes to fill when identified. In his words, "Our reputation hinges on quality, reliability and professionalism. These are geared towards customer satisfaction."
Red Star Express, a licensee of FedEx in Nigeria has 13 regional offices with 153 express centers in all the major cities in the country. It has a vehicle fleet of over 300 and employs about 600 staff. It was recently recertified by the Standard Organization of Nigeria for offering quality service and has won FedEx Sales Star award four consecutive times.
